June 44:30 – 5:45 PMThis live interactive session offers a behind-the-scenes look at how music gets chosen, shaped, and placed in the world of advertising and branded content.
Participants will submit music to a real creative brief curated by Josh Rabinowitz. From all submissions, Josh will select 10 top finalists, whose tracks will be played live for a panel of elite Music Supervisors reacting in real time to each track’s creative fit, emotional impact, and commercial viability. The panel will then narrow the field down to 5 top finalists.
Those finalist tracks will be handed off to a live music editor, who will cut, arrange, and mix the music directly to picture in real time—blending in dialogue, voiceover, and sound design as the audience watches the full sync process unfold live.
Moderated by Josh Rabinowitz, the session combines candid industry insight, live creative decision-making, and audience participation for an experience that is equal parts competition, masterclass, and live pitch room.

June 105:30 – 7:00 PMThis presentation examines the evolution of DJ techniques through the lens of migration, culture, and technology, tracing a path from Jamaican sound system practices to disco and early hip hop in New York City. Emphasis is placed on how technology directly shaped and advanced the art form—from rotary mixers in disco enabling seamless, continuous blends, to the crossfader and headphone cue systems in hip hop facilitating beatmatching, cutting, and real-time performance control. These technical developments are contextualized within the parallel rise of the downtown club scene (including Paradise Garage and Black, Latin, and LGBTQ+ dancefloor culture) and the uptown Bronx hip hop movement, both of which responded to the social, economic, and political conditions of the time. The seminar positions DJing as a technologically driven practice rooted in community, innovation, and cultural exchange.

June 1505:00 PMIn a saturated digital landscape, great music is the requirement, but a great story is the differentiator. This panel explores the critical role of Communications and PR in the modern music ecosystem—the strategic "bridge" that connects an artist's vision to the media, the industry, and the fans. We’re pulling back the curtain on how narratives are built, managed, and protected in an era of 24/7 news cycles and viral trends. Join a collective of seasoned publicists and communications strategists as they discuss the "PR Lifecycle." We’ll move past the high-level buzz to tackle the practicalities: how can an independent artist build an effective story on a budget? At what precise milestone does "investing in PR" actually yield a return? And what does the day-to-day work of a music publicist really entail behind the closed doors of major agencies and labels? This session is designed for the industry's next generation—from students looking to master the art of the pitch to artists ready to scale their presence. We focus on the high-level methodology and the "unspoken" strategies that turn a single release into a career-defining moment.

Moderated by Rose M. Crichton-White (Emmy Winner; Hot97, KissFM) to be held at Chelsea Studios, the panel features Dr. Chelsey Green, Chair of the Recording Academy Board of Trustees and Berklee professor, on stewardship and institutional support without gatekeeping; Steve "Rhythm" Clarke, A&R and producer, on early crate-digging and street-level discovery in New York; and The Mixtape Queens, representing the next generation of tastemakers shaping artist discovery through intentional curation and community. June 184:30 – 6:00 PMJosh Rabinowitz has had his hands—his ears, his instincts, his obsessions—all over more than 10,000 tracks, each one sneaking its way into the collective unconscious via brands, TV, film, and major labels. At Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, he was the first-ever Music Jury President. His 14-year stretch as Grey’s Music Head, preceded by 7.5 years at Y&R, played out like a long, strange trip through the intersection of music and commerce, where art and advertising slow-danced, bickered, and occasionally made something sublime. As a professor at Berklee, The New School, and Brooklyn College, Rabinowitz has mentored, provoked, and occasionally bewildered over 2,000 students, pushing them to grapple with the way music infiltrates and shapes our culture. His consultancy, Brooklyn Music Experience, is part think tank, part crystal ball, helping artists and brands navigate an industry that reinvents itself every five minutes. He remains obsessed with the messy, magical ways music collides with everyday life—the way a single chord change can rewire a memory, or the way a song buried in an ad can suddenly mean everything. His work lives in the background and foreground, in that strange space where sound becomes feeling.Host: Josh RabinowitzSpeaker: Amy DworskySpeaker: Liz SchoenfeldSpeaker: Karen MacmillanSpeaker: Julianne WilsonSpeaker: Meredith O’Leary

Almost Grown: A New York Memoir is a raw, honest, and often funny account of how a kid from a broken home in Queens made his dreams come true, and the hustlers and dreamers he met along the way.
Malin was inspired by one of his favorite books, The Basketball Diaries. Set in the 1980s and 90s, Malin found his community in the hardcore music scene with his pioneering band, Heart Attack, followed by D Generation.
In 2023, Malin suffered a rare spinal stroke that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Rather than retreat from the spotlight, he defied the odds and learned to perform again on stage, spreading the gospel of rock and roll, and PMA (Positive Mental Attitude).
