An inside look at the development of new orchestral works. 

Day 1 of the EarShot Readings focuses on process: bringing early-to-mid career composers into rehearsal with a professional orchestra. Attendees will observe the collaborative process between composers, the conductor, and orchestral musicians as new pieces take shape.

The EarShot Readings program includes workshops, mentor sessions, and reading rehearsals, offering real-time feedback on works in progress. 

 

On June 11th WNYC and New York Music Month present All Of It with Alison Stewart LIVE from The Greene Space. 

Join the audience to see a live radio broadcast featuring performances from Broadway’s The Outsiders, and hear how the cast and creative team members bring the show to life on stage. WNYC staff also gives the NY Music Month community a glimpse into how this daily show comes together, as well as an opportunity to meet the folks behind the mic to learn more about why stations like this play such a big role in amplifying NYC’s local music scene and culture.

A public performance of new works by ACO EarShot Readings 2026 composers. 

Day 2 culminates in a live orchestral reading featuring six composers selected through a national open call. The program is the result of an intensive development process, with each piece refined through rehearsal and mentorship. 

The performance offers a first listen to new orchestral works and a snapshot of the next generation of composers working in the field.

Attendees can meet the folks behind the station, experience its eclectic sound live and in person, and learn more about how to get involved—whether that means getting your music on the air, supporting the station, or connecting with one of New York’s most adventurous cultural institutions.

The Lot Radio hosts a special evening celebrating everything New Yorkers love about dancing, dance music, and community, curated by Jubilee, DJ, producer, and Magic City label head. Broadcasting from a reclaimed shipping container in Brooklyn, The Lot Radio has become a cornerstone of the city’s dance music scene, known for eclectic, genre-spanning programming that spotlights both emerging and established DJs while fostering an inclusive, grassroots culture around electronic music.

Singer-songwriters Claud and Elliott Skinner invite us into an evening of music shaped by the city they call home, in an intimate performance.

This special night is part of the Young Masters series, a platform that honors artists who have achieved exceptional mastery early in their careers, celebrating them for redefining their fields and inspiring a new generation

Join Sheroes, the syndicated radio show and podcast airing in New York City on WNYE, for a special live conversation and radio show taping featuring artist Kelsey Lu in partnership with Bang & Olufsen as part of Black Music Month and New York Music Month. The event brings Sheroes’ signature focus on creative process, music discovery, and artist storytelling into an intimate live setting.

Sheroes spotlights the work and creative journeys of women, queer, LGBTQIA+, and gender-fluid artists through in-depth interviews and thoughtfully curated music programming heard on stations across North America. For this special event, Sheroes welcomes Kelsey Lu, the classically trained cellist, singer-songwriter, producer, composer, poet, and performance artist whose multidisciplinary practice spans music, visual art, performance, and healing. Known for collaborations with artists including Yves Tumor, Sampha, Florence + The Machine, and Skrillex, Lu brings a singular artistic perspective to a conversation exploring creativity, collaboration, and contemporary music-making.

An all-ages outdoor concert showcasing young New York City musicians across genres including rock, pop, funk, baroque pop, and even rock choir. More than a talent showcase, the event creates space for young musicians to connect, grow, and find their voice, while audiences experience the energy, joy, and musical diversity that make New York City unique.

Kids Rock For Kids is a Brooklyn-based nonprofit that gives young musicians a community in which to grow, create, and belong. The mission is to ensure that any young person with a passion for music has access to the people, the spaces, and the experiences that help them find their voice and take the next step in their creative journey.

Legendary afro-punk pioneers ESG, along with afro-future pioneers Burnt Sugar Arkestra feat. Vernon Reid and punk inspired folk artist Sunny War with DJ Nabihah Iqbal gather for this beautiful free mini festival for nonprofit independent radio station Maker Park Radio! 

This is an outdoor fest on the North Shore of Staten Island, just a ferry ride away. This will be ESG's last year touring! 

ESG is an American dance punk/funk/rock band formed in the South Bronx in 1978. ESG has been influential across a wide range of musical genres, including hip hop, and dance-punk. The band's track "UFO" is one of the most sampled songs in history. 

Burnt Sugar Arkestra are afro future music pioneers. The band's music combines the influences of funk, jazz, rock, reggae, soul, hip hop, heavy metal, and 20th-century classical music. Vernon Reid is the guitar player for Living Colour. 

Sunny War, is an American singer and songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee. Her songs blend rock, gospel, and country music with introspective songwriting. 

Nabihah Iqbal is a British musician, writer and broadcaster from London, England. Her 2024 release hit many people's favorites list!

Come hang with the folks from WFUV, discover current NY Slice favorites live, and learn more about the vital role stations like WFUV play in helping artists break through and keeping New York’s music ecosystem thriving.

Yasser Tejeda and Marcos López invite us into an evening of music that will make us dance, blending sounds inspired by New York's latin community, in an intimate performance at National Sawdust. 

This special night is part of the Young Masters series, a platform that honors artists who have achieved exceptional mastery early in their careers, celebrating them for redefining their fields and inspiring a new generation. The show is presented in partnership with Parcha Projects, a NYC and Puerto Rico-based discovery platform championing artists from the Caribbean.

Two iconic New York City party series are joining forces for the first time for a special event at Herbert Von King Park! 

Bronx DJ and curator Ultra Violet brings her long-running party Bodega Jams together with Magic City, the beloved party series and radio show hosted by Jubilee for over a decade. Long overdue, this first-time collaboration unites two powerhouse forces in New York nightlife and music culture for an unforgettable evening in one of the city’s most beloved parks. 

The lineup features New York icons Quiana Parks, Dada Cozmic, and Zuzuka Poderosa.

A multi-genre live concert featuring a curated lineup of artists across pop, hip-hop, electronic, and alternative music. The night brings together strong songwriting and dynamic performances, highlighting a range of sounds and perspectives from across New York’s artist community.

The Washington Square Music Festival returns to historic Washington Square Park with a free outdoor concert led by Ahmed Alom and the Festival Chamber Orchestra. The program spans classical and contemporary repertoire, featuring Kinan Azmeh’s (b. 1976) Run, Hector Berlioz’s (1803–1869) The Death of Cleopatra with mezzo-soprano Rosario Armas, and works by Robert Schumann (1810–1856). Open seating is available, though space is limited, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
