Songwriter, Artist, Founder of Sungate Records
Sungate Records

Mariami Bibilouri is a genre-defying singer-songwriter and founder of Sungate Music Group, known for her signature Indo-pop sound, a fusion of Georgian folk, R&B, and indie-pop that feels both progressive and timeless. With over 13 million Spotify streams, five #1 singles across the US and UK, and high-profile features from Apple to Porsche, her music transcends borders and defies categorization.

Born in Tbilisi, Georgia, Mariami fled civil war at age six, arriving in the U.S. under her grandfather’s care. She studied Musical Theater at Emerson, double-majored in Songwriting at Berklee College of Music, and earned her Master’s in Music Business from NYU’s Steinhardt School. In her early years in New York, she worked at Putumayo World Music by day and moonlighted in the city’s nightlife scene to fund her first recordings. Her breakthrough came at 29 with a development deal from an Interscope executive, leading to her first charting hits in Europe across dance and rock genres.

In 2021, Mariami was inducted into Spotify’s Noteable League, joining the ranks of Carole King and John Legend. Since then, she has written thousands of songs, known for her kaleidoscopic musical palette and for pushing the boundaries of genre and sound.

Through Sungate Records, she is reimagining the music industry, offering strategic support, marketing, and PR without compromising artist ownership or creative integrity. With a dual lens as both creator and executive, Mariami empowers artists to build enduring media brands and chart their own paths. Her mission is twofold: to cultivate a more ethical, artist-centered future in music, and to help dismantle the very barriers she once faced, from funding gaps to cultural gatekeeping, by transforming constraint into creative power.
