Councilor Tashia Grace Burris

Councilor Tashia Grace Burris is the Secretary of Tourism, Culture, Antiquities & Transportation for the Tobago House of Assembly. A proud mother of two and a passionate advocate for her native Tobago, she is deeply committed to the island's development. Before becoming a Councilor, she served as the Complaints & Administrative Officer at the Police Complaints Authority, Tobago Office, and previously worked for six years as the Customer Service Supervisor at the Scarborough Port under the Port Authority of Trinidad & Tobago.
Born on September 15, 1985, in Canaan, Tobago, and raised in Scarborough and Sou Sou Lands, Councilor Burris possesses a passion for learning. A dedicated student, she graduated as the female class valedictorian from Bishop’s High School, Tobago. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Computing & Information Systems and an International Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in International Marketing Management, with distinction. Councilor Burris has a strong record of community service, having worked with several youth organizations, including the YMCA and the Tobago Youth Council. She is a trained peer educator and has mentored hundreds of young people. Her diverse experiences have shaped her into a thought leader committed to innovation, justice, and equitable development for Tobago.
