FREEBMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) is excited to announce its next Acoustic Lounge, a free monthly showcase featuring performances by BMI singer-songwriters, at Stage One at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City. The Acoustic Lounge gives emerging songwriters an opportunity to showcase new music in an intimate setting, while interacting with fans and industry VIPs. Attendees can consider the showcase as a place of musical discovery where they can hear songwriters reveal the stories behind the music. The evening will feature performances by Hayley Warner and Eva Westphal. This event is 21+ and free to attend.
Hayley Warner
Australian singer-songwriter, Hayley Warner had hopes of becoming a professional athlete as a child until being diagnosed with a rare disease and told she’d never walk again. She defied the odds when a secondhand drum set became her means of physical therapy, helping her to gain movement back in her legs & propelling her into the start of her music career. She has since released her debut single “Closure”, which has independently amassed millions of streams, finding its way to Spotify’s “Viral Hits”, as well as gaining the attention of a number of fellow artists. She’s recently began rolling out singles from her upcoming EP, ‘I Think I Saw The Moon’, receiving playlisting on Spotify’s “New Music Friday”, “Fresh Finds” + Amazon Music’s “Breakthrough Pop” and receiving coverage from Ones To Watch, Earmilk, Wolf in a Suit, etc. In addition to her artist career, Hayley is an acclaimed songwriter whose work has totaled upward of 3 billion streams to date – she has penned songs for other artists including Katy Perry, Dean Lewis, Calum Scott, Chris Stapleton, Kelly Clarkson, Tori Kelly, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, etc.
Eva Westphal
Eva Westphal is a singer-songwriter based in New York City. At 13, Eva began writing her own songs, combining her love for writing with her love for music. Though she is classically trained, her transition to pop music has led to performances at renowned venues like Mercury Lounge, PIANOS, TheDelancey, The Bitter End, and The Bowery Electric. Eva’s musical inspirations span from Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks to Brandi Carlile and “Folklore”-era Taylor Swift. Distinguished musicians have commented on her unique voice, with Alicia Keys pointing out Eva’s “puretone” and Top 40 Radio (Mix 104.1) calling her “one to watch.” EARMILK writes, “Framed by her classical training, Westphal’s pop sound is distinctly infused with a polished feel that sets her apart.” Passionate about mental health and LGBTQ+ issues, Eva hopes that her music will help you love your authentic self.
