Ian Holder is Senior Vice President of Creative at Sony Music Publishing. Since joining the company in 2017, Holder has been instrumental in elevating the success of its R&B/Hip-Hop roster across the U.S. and leading SMP’s growing presence in Atlanta, Georgia. He has signed and worked closely with prominent songwriters including Jack Harlow, Moneybagg Yo, Polo G, Lil Tjay, Lil Durk, Felisha King, Nardo Wick and many others. His success and impact can be seen across the charts including Jack Harlow’s chart-topping album Come Home The Kids Miss You, Lil Durk’s album 7220, Polo G’s hit single “RAPSTAR,” and more.
Holder previously spent ten years at BMI, where he served as Director of Writer & Publisher Relations. During his time at BMI he signed celebrated artists including Post Malone, Frank Ocean, Rae Sremmurd, Kiiara, MadeinTYO, Pusha-T, Sage The Gemini, Tyga, and The J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League (Rick Ross, Drake, Nas, 2 Chainz). Prior to joining BMI, Holder worked in A&R at Columbia Records.
