Chris Barkley is SVP for Government Affairs at the National Music Publishers' Association.

Prior to joining NMPA, Chris spent 22 years on Capitol Hill, serving in both the Senate and the House of Representatives. Most recently, he was deputy chief of staff and policy director for Sen. Mitt Romney. During that time, he led negotiations over the infrastructure bill, several covid relief bills and other major bipartisan accomplishments.

He was also policy director for the Republican Policy Committee, a leadership office led by Sen. John Barrasso, senior policy advisor for Sen. Ben Sasse and a variety of roles for Sen. Tom Coburn.
