Immersive Audio Conversation with Emily Lazar, GRAMMY-Winning Mastering Engineer

New immersive audio formats including Dolby Atmos and Sony 360 are the new frontier for both creators and consumers alike. They provide a new way to showcase what happens in the studio and allows the listener an incredible opportunity to really sit inside the music. The emotion of the performance, the dynamics, and all of the details of the mix can be heard in a noticeably different way.

Creating Electronic Music with Everyday Sounds

In this introductory hands-on workshop with instructor Izzi Ramkissoon, Electronic Music Program at the College of Staten Island, participants will learn about how to create music using everyday sound in the style of musique concrete.  In the workshop attendees will learn about this history of musique concrete, listen to examples, record sounds using a computer or phone, edit and process sounds using free software (audacity), create a piece of music that can be shared after the workshop.

New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) is pleased to present a series of events showcasing new recordings, music videos, and panel discussions with industry professionals to celebrate women-identifying artists and recipients of the NYC Women’s Fund for Media, Music and Theatre.

KAYE (Charlene Kaye) will showcase her new music video for single “Conscious Control” on NYFA’s Instagram. Conscious Control was funded by MOME initiative, NYC Women’s Fund for Media. Music and Theatre. Kaye is a singer-songwriter and former front woman of critically acclaimed group San Fermin, with whom Kaye has played network television and has toured with St. Vincent, Arctic Monkeys, and alt-J.
